GENERATION ONE:

1. ~ ~ ~ PAUL STRAKA was born on 5 January 1830 in Honositz 21, Bohemia. He arrived in New Zealand on 27 June 1863 on the ship War Spirit as a single man aged 33 years.

Paul married MARIA BOTELSAK on 9 June 1864 at St Patricks Cathedral in Auckland (BDM1864/8757). Maria was born on 5 April 1840 in Mantau 25, Bohemia and was the daughter of JOSEF BOTELSAK and CECILIA KRAL. She also arrived in New Zealand on the ship War Spirit.

Paul died on 23 August 1895 and Maria on 15 February 1927. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 10 Plot 204 & 205)

GENERATION TWO:

1. ~ ~ ~ MARY (PAUL) STRAKA was born in New Zealand in 1865 and was the eldest daughter of PAUL STRAKA and MARIA BOTELSAK She married JOHN MICHAEL KRIPPNER on 27 April 1889 in New Zealand (BDM1889/1852). John had arrived in New Zealand around 1860. John and Mary farmed in Te Rore in the Waikato region.

Children of MARY STRAKA and JOHN KRIPPNER included:

o CHARLES JAMES KRIPPNER, died aged nine days on 14 September 1890 (BDM1890/3274)

o ARTHUR MICHAEL KRIPPNER, born 1891 (BDM1891/13402). Arthur married GRACE RUTH HILL in 1927. Grace died on 25 November 1965 and Arthur died on 24 November 1969. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 29 Plot 496 & 497).

o JOHN PERCY KRIPPNER, born 1893 (BDM1893/2547)

o CHARLES JAMES KRIPPNER, born June 1894 and died aged nine days (BDM1890/3274)

o EDWARD JOSEPH KRIPPER, born 1896. Edward married AGNES SADIE KARL in 1929 (BDM1929/2480)

o FRANK AUGUSTINE KRIPPNER, born 1898 (BDM1898/14151)

o CECILIA ANNA KRIPPNER, born 1900. Cecilia married FRANCIS JOSEPH KARL in 1929 (BDM1929/2559)

o GEORGE LAWRENCE KRIPPNER, born 1902. George married ANNIE WECH in 1928 (BDM1928/4363)

o MARGARET MARY BARBARA KRIPPNER, born 1905 (BDM1905/17632)

o WILLIAM PAUL KRIPPNER, born 1907. William married 1930 (BDM1830/10440).

Paul died on 23 September 1927 aged 71 years (BDM1927/6756). Mary died on 21 November 1944 in Ohaupo, Waikato aged 80 years (BDM1944/27896). They were both buried at Ohaupo Catholic Cemetery.

3. ~ ~ ~ MAGDALENA JOSEPHINA (PAUL) STRAKA was born in New Zealand in 1871 and was the second daughter of PAUL STRAKA and MARIA BOTELSAK. Magdalena married MARTIN SCHEDEWY on 9 January 1900. Martin was born about 1874 and was the eldest son of ANTON SCHEDEWY and MARGARETHE RUSSEK. He arrived in New Zealand on the ship Shakespeare on 23 January 1876. Magdalena and Martin farmed at Puhuehue, Schedewy's Hill in Puhoi, North Auckland.

o MARY SCHEDEWY, born 17 April 1901; died as an infant.

o JOSEPH SCHEDEWY, born 28 July 1903 (BDM1903/2468). Joseph married AMELIA GERTRUDE SCHOLLUM in 1933.. Amelia was born in 1911; died 23 April 1985. Joseph died on 29 March 1985. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 12 Plot 267 and 268).

o WILLIAM ANTON SCHEDEWY, born 26 February 1905. William married WINNIFRED MARGARET PAUL. Winnifred was born in 1899 and died 5 February 1981. William died on 5 September 1966 (BDM1966/35619). They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 12 Plots 269 and 270).

Magdalena died on 19 July 1948 aged 77 years (BDM1948/19016). She and Martin were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 5 Plot 110 & 111)

4. ~ ~ ~ CHARLES ALBERT (PAUL) STRAKA, born 10 February 1870 in Puhoi, North Auckland, was the second son of PAUL STRAKA and MARIA BOTELSAK. Charles married THERESIA REMIGER on 18 January 1898 in St Peter & St Paul Catholic Church in Puhoi. Theresia was born 17 May 1879 in Puhoi and was the daughter of BENEDICT REMIGER and MARIA RUSSEK.

CHARLES ALBERT STRAKA, born 11 April 1903 (BDM1903/18817); died 14 May 1962.

ROSIE THERESA STRAKA, born 11 June 1905 (BDM1905/2465)

JOSEPH BENEDICT STRAKA, born 17 February 1907 (BDM1907/2358). Joseph married ISOBEL TITFORD.

LEO PAUL STRAKA, born 26 July 1908 (BDM1908/12392). Leo married NORMA MARGARET MAULDER in 1936.

DAVID STEPHEN STRAKA, born 26 December 1909 (BDM1910/9982)

LAWRENCE THOMAS STRAKA, born 11 September 1911 (BDM1911/15197. Lawrence married KATHLEEN MONICA FLANAGAN in 1937.

Charles died on 25 August 1948 (BDM1948/28583), and Theresia died on 23 March 1972.

5. ~ ~ ~ JOHN (PAUL) STRAKA, born about 1871 in Puhoi, North Auckland, was the third son of PAUL STRAKA and MARIA BOTELSAK. John married ROSA MARGARET PLESCHER on 27 October 1891 (BDM1891/2784). Rosa was born on 29 July 1873 in Shortland, Thames, New Zealand and was the eldest daughter of VINCENT JOHN PLESCHER and ROSALIA WECH.

AGNES ROSE STRAKA, born 17 October 1892 (BDM 1892/16693). Agnes married CHARLES BECHER in 1928. She died on 7 April 1963 and was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 2 Plot 56)

HENRY STRAKA, born 18 June 1894; died 10 August 1894 (BDM1894/562)

MARY STRAKA, born 25 August 1895 (BDM1895/9247)

ROSA STRAKA, born 5 December 1897 (BDM1898/2044)

ANNIE DOROTHY STRAKA, born 20 January 1905 (BDM1905/8238). Annie married ALLEN WILLIAM SHANKS in 1927.

ELSIE JOSPEHINE STRAKA, born 23 December 1906 (BDM1906/3767)

MARJORIE STRAKA, born 1911; died 1971.

IRENE MARION STRAKA, born 1913 (BDM1914/22037); died 1993.

Rosa died on 15 October 1920, and John on 14 July 1938. They were both buried at Hillsborough Cemetery in Auckland.

6. ~ ~ ~ JOSEPH (PAUL) STRAKA, born 1872, was the forth son of PAUL STRAKA and MARIA BOTELSAK. Joseph married DORATHEA SCHEDEWY on 4 February 1902 (BDM1902/2242). Dorathea was born in 1880 in Puhoi, North Auckland and was the daughter of ANTON SCHEDEWY and MARGARETHE RUSSEK.

JOHN MARTIN STRAKA, born 1903 (BDM1903/10444). John married MARGARET GWENDOLINE SCHOLLUM in 1933 (BDM1933/8623). Margaret was born in 1912 and was the daughter of WILLIAM JOHN SCHOLLUM and MARY WENZLICK. John died on 21 May 1974, and Margaret on 8 July 1980. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 11 Plot 246 & 247).

DOROTHY MARGARET STRAKA, born 1904 (BDM1904/13040). Dorothy married REGINALD DAVID LEWIS in 1928 (BDM1928/4365).

KATHLEEN FLORENCE STRAKA, born 1907 (BDM1907/2356). Kathleen married WILLIAM OSWALD SCHOLLUM in 1935 (BDM1935/2082). William was born in 1908 and was the son of WILLIAM JOHN SCHOLLUM and MARY WENZLICK.

RAYMOND JOSEPH STRAKA, born 1908 (BDM1908/19392). Raymond died on 16 February 1971 and was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 13 Plot 290)

EVALINE MARY STRAKA, born 1910 at Puhoi (BDM1910/19481). Evaline married HAROLD WALKDER.

BERNARD ANTON STRAKA, born 1914 (BDM1914/16603).

Joseph died on 3 August 1963 and Dorathea died on 2 April 1954.

7. ~ ~ ~ ANNA (PAUL) STRAKA was born in 1879 and was the youngest daughter of PAUL STRAKA and MARIA BOTELSAK. Anna married WENZL LAMBERT on 8 January 1901 (BDM1901/5586). Wenzl was born in 1872 in Puhoi and was the son of WILLIAM LAMBERT and MARIA SCHISCHKA.

Children of ANNA STRAKA and WENZL LAMBERT included:

o MARY SCHEDEWY, born 17 April 1901; died as an infant.

o MARY LAMBERT, born 1901 (BDM1901/11013). Mary married ALFRED CHARLES BECHER in 1927 (BDM1927/6255). Mary died on 31 July 1972, and Alfred on 1 January 1976.. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 26 Plot 472 & 473)

o JOHN LAMBERT, born 1904 (BDM1904/15267). John died on 13 October 1967 and was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 11 Plot 244)

o WENZL JOSEPH (BILL) LAMBERT, born 1905 (BDM1905/2472). Bill died on 7 August 1985 and was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 12 Plot 266)

o ROSE LAMBERT, born 1907 (BDM1907/6522)

o JOSEPH LAMBERT, born 1910 (BDM1910/19479)

o JAMES LAMBERT, born 1912 (BDM1912/6031)

o FREDERICK LAMBERT, born 1914 (BDM1914/9900). Frederick died on 5 November 1917 aged 4 years and was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 12 Plot 263)

Wenzl died on 12 January 1927 aged 55 years, and Anna on 13 January 1942. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 12 Plot 264 & 265).
