GENERATION ONE:

1. ~ ~ ~ THOMAS BECHER was born in Puhoi, North Auckland, New Zealand. He married ANNA BAYER in 1893 (BDM1893/2307). Anna was born in 1873 and was the second daughter of WENZL BAYER and ANNA WENZLICK.

JOHN THOMAS ² BECHER, born 1894.

JOSEPH BECHER, born 1895; died 20 September 1954 aged 59 years (BDM1954/31576). Joseph was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 25 Plot 466)

ELIZABETH MARY ³ BECHER, who married JOHN SCHOLLUM.

ALBERT BECHER, born 1899; died 1899 aged 2 months (BDM1899/605).

BARBARA ANNA BECHER, born 1900; died 13 April 1908 aged 7 years. Barbara was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 25 Plot 464).

THOMAS JOSEPH BECHER, born 1903; died 11 February 1960 aged 56 years (BDM1960/23791). Thomas was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Military Plaque - Row 25 Plot 462)

Thomas died on 2 December 1902 aged 33 years as the result of an accident at the railway works in Ahuroa. He was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 25 Plot 463).
Anna remarried in 1809 to Wenzl Wech. She died on 6 December 1953 aged 80 years.

GENERATION TWO:

2. ~ ~ ~ JOHN THOMAS BECHER (THOMAS) was born in 1894 (BDM1894/15913) and was the eldest son of THOMAS BECHER and ANNA BAYER. John married WINNIFRED ROSE FLYNN in 1916 (BDM1916/4472)

Children of JOHN BECHER and WINNIFRED FLYNN were:

NANCY BECHER, who married KEITH EDMONDS.

MOYNA BECHER, who married WILLIAM MANUAL.

ERINA BECHER, who married HARRY BERGER.

3. ~ ~ ~ ELIZABETH MARY BECHER (THOMAS) was born in New Zealand in 1896 (BDM1896/1621) and was the eldest daughter of THOMAS BECHER and ANNA BAYER. Elizabeth married JOHN ALBERT SCHOLLUM in 1916 (BDM1916/9192)

o DONALD THOMAS SCHOLLUM, born Abt 1918. Donald was a Lieutenant in the New Zealand Infantry during World War One. He died on 13 August 1945 and was buried at Heliopolis War Cemetery in Egypt. (Refer to my Roll of Honour for more information)

o KENNETH SCHOLLUM, who married MONA DE LUCA.

o ALAN WENZL SCHOLLUM, who married GLADYS WARD.

o KEVIN GEORGE SCHOLLUM, born 1922; died 17 May 2011 in Tauranga. Kevin married BERTHA POLWART.

o IRENE BARBARA SCHOLLUM, who married JIM CHAMBERS.

1. ~ ~ ~ JOSEPH BECHER, born 1881 was the son of JOSEPH BECHER and ANNA BOTELSAK. Joseph married BARBARA BAYER in 1904. Barbara was the youngest daughter of WENZL BAYER and ANNA WENZLICK.

2. ~ ~ ~ LESLIE JOSEPH BECHER, born 8 September 1915 was the son of JOSEPH BECHER and BARBARA BAYER. Leslie married NESSIE MICKELL. He died on 5 July 2002 and was buried at Piako Lawn Cemetery in Morrinsville.

3. ~ ~ ~ MARY BECHER, born about 1860. Mary married JOHANN WECH in 1880. She died on 3 May 1941, and together with Johann, was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 14, Plots 298 & 297)
