GENERATION ONE:

1. ~ ~ ~ JOHANN WECH was born 1827 in Bohemia. He married ANNA SCHOTT, born 1832. Johann and his family arrived in New Zealand on the Liverpool on 5 March 1866.

Children of JOHANN WECH and ANNA SCHOTT were:

ROSALIA ³ WECH, born 13 November 1850 in Bohemia.

MARIA ⁴ WECH, born 1854 in Bohemia.

JOHANN (JOHN) ⁵ WECH, born about 1855 in Bohemia.

JOSEPH WECH, born about 1861 in Bohemia.

MATHIAS (MATTHEW) ⁶ JOSEPH WECH, born 10 March 1863 in Bohemia.

Johann died on 10 June 1889 and Anna died on 4 April 1893. They are both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 3, Plots 69 & 70)

2. ~ ~ ~ JOSEF WECH, was born on 3 July 1840 in Lischin, Bohemia. He married DOROTHEA SCHOTT in Lischin on 19 November 1861 and they immigrated to New Zealand arriving in Auckland on 5 March 1866 on the ship Liverpool with their three eldest children (John being born on the voyage). Dorothea was a sister of Anna, and was born in Lischin, Bohemia on 4 March 1839.

Children of JOSEF WECH and DOROTHEA SCHOTT included:

JOSEPH WECH, aged 6 years on arrival on the Liverpool.

MAGDALENE WECH, aged 3 years on arrival on the Liverpool.

JOHN JOSEPH WECH, born at sea aboard the Liverpool. John married ANNA LOUISA CATRINA TURNWALD (nee Krohn) in 1903. Anna had previously been married to BARTHOLEMEW TURNWALD who had died in 1899. John died on 11 October 1950 and was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 1 Plot 17). Anna died two weeks later, on 25 October 1950 and was also buried at Puhoi.

THERESA ST HELENA WECH, born about 1876. Theresa married FRANCIS JOSEPH PLESCHER on 29 July 1902 at St Benedicts Church, Auckland. Theresa died in 1904 aged 28 years.

Josef died on 12 February 1929. Dorothea died on 9 July 1900. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery.

GENERATION TWO:

3. ~ ~ ~ ROSALIA WECH <JOHANN> was born 13 November 1850 in Lischen, Bohemia and was the eldest child of JOHANN WECH and ANNA SCHOTT. Rosalia was aged 15 years on arrival in New Zealand on the Liverpool.

Rosalia married Rosalia married VINCENT JOHN PLESCHER in Auckland on 8 October 1872. Vincent was born on 8 March 1849 in Elholten 10, Bohemia and was the son of KASPAR PLESCHER and MARGARETH NAARVAN. He had also arrived in New Zealand on the Liverpool.

Rosalia died on 26 October 1937 and Vincent died on 26 August 1917. They are both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery.

4. ~ ~ ~ MARIA WECH <JOHANN>, born 1854 in Bohemia was the second daughter of JOHANN WECH and ANNA SCHOTT. She arrived in New Zealand on the Liverpool aged 15 years. Maria married GEORGE DENNIS.

Child of MARIA WECH and GEORGE DENNIS was:

o SARAH JANE DENNIS, born 6 August 1885 in Pukapuka, Auckland. Sarah married JOSEPH WENZLICK on 6 August 1914 in Auckland. Joseph was born on 9 June 1876 in Waiwera, North Auckland and was the fifth son of JOHANN NEPOMUK WENZLICK and ANNA PLESCHER.

5. ~ ~ ~ JOHANN (JOHN) WECH <JOHANN> was born about 1855 in Bohemia and was the eldest son of JOHANN WECH and ANNA SCHOTT. He arrived in New Zealand on the Liverpool aged 11 years.

John married MARY BECHER in 1880. Mary was born about 1860; died 3 May 1941. John died on 13 April 1929. They are both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 14, Plots 297 & 298).

6. ~ ~ ~ MATHIAS (MATTHEW) JOSEPH WECH <JOHANN> was born on 10 March 1863 in Pilsen, Bohemia and was the third son of JOHANN WECH and ANNA SCHOTT. He arrived in New Zealand with his parents and elder siblings on the Liverpool on 5 March 1866 aged two years.

Mathew married ANNA HENDL on 11 February 1890 in Puhoi. Anna was born on 1 February 1868 in Bohemia and was the daughter of JOSEF HENDL and MARGARETHA BOTELSAK. She arrived in New Zealand with her family on the Friederburg on 24 August 1875.

Children of MATTHEW WECH and ANNA HENDL were:

JOHN MATTHEW WECH, born 7 January 1891 in Puhoi, North Auckland, New Zealand. John married AGNUS MARY PAUL in 1913. Agnes was born in 1893 and died on 2 February 1966. She was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 22 Plot 418)

ROBERT JOSEPH ⁷ WECH, born 1892 in Puhoi.

MARY ANNA ⁸ WECH, born 1893 in Puhoi.

Matthew died on 19 May 1920 as the result of an accidental drowning. Anna died on 24 January 1948 aged 80 years. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 4 Plot 88 & 90).

GENERATION THREE:

7. ~ ~ ~ ROBERT JOSEPH WECH <JOHANN > MATTHEW> was born in 1892 in Puhoi, North Auckland, New Zealand and was the second son of MATTHEW WECH and ANNA HENDL. Robert married CHRISTINA THERESA BAYER in 1919. Christina was born on 21 July 1899 and was the eldest daughter of JOHN BAYER and ELIZABETH RAUNER.

KENNETH WECH, who married KATHLEEN DELEMAR.

DOROTHY WECH, who married RUPERT BERGER.

BARTLEY WECH, who married JANETTE BERGER.

KATHLEEN WECH, who married REX PARKER.

SELWYN WECH, who married WILMA SCHOLLUM.

NOEL WECH, who married COLLEEN KELLY.

PAT WECH, who married PATRICIA SMITH.

Robert died on 13 July 1978 and was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 6 Plot 145).

8. ~ ~ ~ MARY ANNA WECH <JOHANN > MATTHEW>, born about 1893 in Puhoi, was the third child of MATTHEW WECH and ANNA HENDL. Mary married LEONARD FREDERICK SCHISCHKA on 20 May 1913 at St Peter & St Paul Catholic Church in Puhoi. Leonard was born in 1888 in Puhoi and was the son of VINCENT SCHISCHKA and MARIA (SCHISCHKA)

Child of MARY WECH and LEONARD SCHISCHKA was:

o LEONARD ROBERT SCHISCHKA, born June 1914; died 4 September 1989.

Mary died on 26 June 1914 in Auckland shortly after giving birth. Leonard later married THERESA CATHERINE WENZLICK and had a further six children.

OTHER CONNECTIONS:

1. ~ ~ ~ ANNIE WECH married GEORGE LAWRENCE KRIPPNER in 1928. George was born on 1 May 1902 and was the seventh son of JOHN KRIPPNER and MARY STRAKA.

2. ~ ~ ~ MARY ANNIE WECH, born 1911 and was the daughter of WENZL JAMES WECH and ANNA BAYER. Mary marred TOM COOPER.

3. ~ ~ ~ ROSALIE WECH was the daughter of JOHN WECH and ANNA SCHOTT. She married VINCENT PLESCHER in 1872. Vincent was the eldest son of CASPAR PLESCHER and MARGARET NAARVAN.

4. ~ ~ ~ WENZL JAMES WECH, born about 1878 in Puhoi was the son of JOSEF WECH and DOROTHEA SCHOTT. Wenzl married ANNA BECHER (nee Bayer) in 1909. He died in Woodcocks, North Auckland aged 84 years.
