GENERATION ONE :

1. ~ ~ ~ LORENZ SCHISCHKA was born on 7 March 1823 in Littitz, Bohemia and was the son of JOHANN CHRISTIAN SCHISCHKA. Lorenz married ROSALIA SCHINDLER on 26 January 1844 in Pilsen, Bohemia. Rosalia was born in 1822. The family arrived in New Zealand on 5 March 1866 on the ship Liverpool.

Children of LORENZ SCHISCHKA and ROSALIA SCHINDLER were:

VINZENZ (VINCENT) ⁴ SCHISCHKA, born 5 November 1845 in Littitz, Bohemia.

GEORG SCHISCHKA, born 1847.

ANNA SCHISCHKA, born 1849 in Littitz, Bohemia. Anna was aged 16 years on arrival in New Zealand. She died on 18 August 1834.

JOHN SCHISCHKA, born 1852; aged 13 years on arrival in New Zealand. John died in 1936.

KATHERINA SCHISCHKA, born 1856, aged 11 years on arrival in New Zealand; died 1931.

CHRISTIAN ⁵ SCHISCHKA, born 1857 in Littitz, Bohemia.

THERESA SCHISCHKA, born 1859, aged 6 years on arrival in New Zealand; died 1949.

JOSEPH ⁶ SCHISCHKA, born 1863 in Littitz, Bohemia.

EDWARD LORENZ SCHISCHKA, born 1871 in Puhoi, North Auckland, NZ. Edward died on 19 June 1952 and was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery.

2. ~ ~ ~ WENZL SCHISCHKA was born in 1843 in Mantau, Bohemia. He was the son of JOUBLE SCHISCHKA and AGNES FRITSCH (at this stage unconfirmed). Wenzl married MARGARETHE BREHM on 17 May 1870 in Bohemia. Wenzl and Margarethe, together with their two eldest children, arrived in New Zealand on the ship Shakespeare on 23 January 1876.

Children of WENZL SCHISCHKA and MARGARETHE BREHM were:

MARGARETHE HELLIER ⁷ SCHISCHKA, born 1872 in Chotischau, Bohemia.

ANTON SCHISCHKA, born July 1874 in Chotischau, Bohemia. He arrived in New Zealand on the ship Shakespeare on 26 January 1876 aged 15 months. He was naturalized on 24 August 1899, at the time being a Farmer of Puhoi, aged 24 years.

WENZL HELLIER SCHISCHKA, born 11 July 1876 in Puhoi, North Auckland, New Zealand. Wenzl married BESSIE LOUISA LEAKEY in 1909; they divorced in 1937. Bessie was born in 1888 in Raglan, Waikato, New Zealand; died 1973. Wenzl died in Thames in October 1945.

JOSEPH HELLIER SCHISCHKA, born 16 September 1879 in Puhoi, North Auckland, NZ. Joseph married VIOLET MAUD BILLING in 1913. Violet was born about 1893 in Patea, South Taranaki and was the daughter of WILLIAM ARCHIBALD BILLING and ANN McPHIE.

MARY CATHERINE SCHISCHKA, born 19 December 1881; died 1903. Mary was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 19 Plot 364).

ANNA FLORENCE AGNES ⁸ SCHISCHKA, born 30 December 1883 in Puhoi, North Auckland.

FREDERICK JOHN SCHISCHKA, born 21 November 1885; died 1963 in Te Awamutu, Waikato, New Zealand.

JOSEPHINE SCHISCHKA, born 15 May 1887 in Puhoi, North Auckland.

3. ~ ~ ~ EDWARD SCHISCHKA was born in 1870. He married ANNA REMIGER in 1896. Anna was a daughter of BENEDICT REMIGER and MARIA RUSSEK.

Children of EDWARD SCHISCHKA and ANNA REMIGER were:

WINNEFRIED MARY ROSALIA SCHISCHKA, born about 1898; died 4 March 1959. Winnefried married ALBERT HENRY DIXON in 1925. Albert died on 5 December 1958 aged 70 years. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 7 Plot 160 & 161)

EDWARD SCHISCHKA, born 1899.

DOROTHY SCHISCHKA, born 1902. She married ALBERT BERGER in 1920. Albert was born about 1898 and died in 1961 aged 63 years.

ROSA EVELINE SCHISCHKA, born 1904.

EDWARD FRANCIS SCHISCHKA, born 1905.

ALFRED BENEDICT SCHISCHKA, born 1908.

PERCIVAL LORENZ SCHISCHKA, born 1912; died 13 January 1968. Percival was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 7 Plot 159).

GENERATION TWO :

4. ~ ~ ~ VINZENZ (VINCENT) SCHISCHKA (LORENZ), was born on 5 November 1845 in Littitz, Bohemia and was the eldest son of LORENZ SCHISCHKA and ROSALIA SCHINDLER. He arrived in New Zealand on the ship Liverpool on 5 March 1866, aged 20 years, with his parents and younger siblings.

Vincent married MARIA (MARY) GRUBER in Auckland on 20 January 1877. Maria was born on 10 September 1858 and arrived in New Zealand with her widowed mother and two sisters on the ship Friedeburg on 24 Aug 1875.

Children of VINZENZ SCHISHKA and MARY GRUBER were:

AGNES SCHISCHKA, born 1879.

WENZL JOSEPH ⁹ SCHISCHKA, born 1880/81 in Puhoi, North Auckland.

LEONARD FREDERICK ¹⁰ SCHISCHKA, born 1888, in Puhoi, North Auckland.

AGNES SCHISCHKA, born 1879.

WENZL SCHISCHKA, born 1881.

CATHERINE SCHISCHKA, born 1883. Catherine married ERIC FRITIOF DAHLBERG in 1911. Eric was born about 1885; died 1963.

MATILDA SCHISCHKA, born 1889.

CAROLINE SCHISCHKA, born 1892; died 20 June 1942.

Vincent died on 22 November 1927, shortly after the death of Maria on 24 September 1927. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 20 Plots 391 & 390)

5. ~ ~ ~ CHRISTIAN SCHISCHKA (LORENZ), was born in 1857 in Littitz, Bohemia and was the forth son of LORENZ SCHISCHKA and ROSALIA SCHINDLER. Christian arrived in New Zealand with his parents and siblings on 5 March 1866 on the Liverpool aged 8 years.

Christian married ANNIE (surname unknown) in 1885 and their children included:

WILLIAM SCHISCHKA, born 1886.

ELIZABETH ROSELLA SCHISCHKA, born about 1889; died 29 January 1942. Elizabeth was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 1 Plot 13)

WILLIAM CHRISTIAN SCHISCHKA, born 1890.

BENEDICT MARTIN SCHISCHKA, born 1894.

MAGDALEN MARY SCHISCHKA, born 1895; died 25 July 1951. Magdalen was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 1 Plot 12)

ANNIE MARY SCHISCHKA, born 1897.

Annie died on 9 August 1897 aged 31 years and Christian married (2) MARGARET LAFFERTY in 1904.

Christian died on 8 November 1922 aged 65 years and was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 18 Plot 350). Margaret died on 23 August 1943 and was also buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 18 Plot 349).

6. ~ ~ ~ JOSEPH SCHISCHKA (LORENZ), born 1863 in Littitz, Bohemia was the fifth son of LORENZ SCHISCHKA and ROSALIA SCHINDLER. He was aged 2 years on arrival in New Zealand on the Liverpool with his family. Joseph married MARGARET WENZLICK in 1896 in Puhoi. Margaret was born in 1875 in Puhoi and was the second daughter of JOHANN NEPOMUK WENZLICK and ANNA PLESCHER.

ERNEST LAURENCE SCHISCHKA, born 1897 died 26 June 1942. Ernest married GWENDOLINE FRASER in 1929.

JOSEPH VICTOR SCHISCHKA, born 1899. Joseph married ANNA STRAKA in 1928. Anna was born in 1901 and was the daughter of CHARLES STRAKA and THERESIA REMIGER.

GERTRUDE MARY SCHISCHKA, born 1901; died 1993. Gertrude married ROBERT JOHN KERNOHAN in 1927.

RUBY ROSANA SCHISCHKA; born 1903. Ruby married EDWARD ERIC OCARROLL in 1930.

RUPERT JOHN SCHISCHKA, born 1905.

ESMA MARY SCHISCHKA, born 1907; died 1911 aged three and a half years.

VINCENT CHRISTIAN SCHISCHKA, born 1909.

WILLIAM EDWARD SCHISCHKA, born 1911; died as an infant.

ALBERT EDMOND SCHISCHKA, born 1916; died 11 March 1982.

Joseph died on 30 June 1920 aged 56 years. Margaret died on 11 September 1940. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery.

7. ~ ~ ~ MARGARETHE HELLIER SCHISCHKA (WENZL) was, born around 1872 in Chotieschau, Bohemia. She arrived in New Zealand on the ship Shakespeare on 23 January 1876 aged 3 years with her parents and younger brother.

Margarethe married WENZL JOSEPH RUSSEK on 19 November 1889. Wenzl was born about 1863 and was the son of ANTON RUSSEK and MARGARETHA MATHIOWETZ.

8. ~ ~ ~ ANNA FLORENCE AGNES SCHISCHKA (WENZL) was born on 30 December 1883 in Puhoi, North Auckland, New Zealand. Anna married FREDERICK WILLIAM WENZLICK. He was born on 28 February 1874 in Kereta, Thames Coast and was the second son of GREGOR JOHN WENZLICK and MARIA THERESA SCHOTT.

GENERATION THREE :

9. ~ ~ ~ WENZL JOSEPH SCHISCHKA (LORENZ > VINZENZ), born 1880/81 in Puhoi, North Auckland and was the eldest son of VINZENZ SCHISCHKA and MARY GRUBER. Wenzl was a Master Marina. He married CATHERINE SCHOLLUM on 20 January 1877 in Auckland, NZ. Catherine was born on 10 September 1858 and was the youngest daughter of JOHANN WENZL SCHOLLUM and ELIZABETH MARY HARTZEREN.

Children of WENZL SCHISCHKA and CATHERINE SCHOLLUM were:

IVAN WENZL SCHISCHKA, born 1908.

GERTRUDE ELIZABETH SCHISCHKA; born 1911.

LEO SCHISCHKA, died 1920 and was buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 13 Plot 273)

Wenzl died on 28 November 1961 and Catherine died on 17 May 1942. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 13 Plots 272 and 271).

10. ~ ~ ~ LEONARD FREDERICK SCHISCHKA (LORENZ > VINZENZ), born 1888, in Puhoi, North Auckland and was the second son of VINZENZ SCHISCHKA and MARY GRUBER. Leonard married (1) MARY ANNA WECH on 20 May 1913 in Puhoi. Mary was born about 1893 in Puhoi and was the daughter of MATHIAS JOSEPH WECH and ANNA HENDL.

LEONARD ROBERT SCHISCHKA, born June 1914.

Maria died shortly after giving birth and Leonard later married (2) THERESA CATHERINE WENZLICK in 1915. Theresa was born in January 1895 and was the daughter of VINCENT WENZLICK and MARIA SCHEDEWY, and a grand-daughter of JOHANN NEPOMUK WENZLICK and ANNA PLESCHER.

Leonard died at Puhoi on 17 April 1951 and Theresa on 7 August 1951 in Henderson, Auckland. They were both buried at Puhoi Public Cemetery (Row 21 Plot 401 & 400).
